I vote this thread most likely to bring about counter terrorist action.....
believe me ive had the armed offenders unit raid one party where buttmunches were playing with (my) bb guns in the street never again.....
guns are great as long as they arent being pointed at you....
also with the hightend paranoia over this kinda crap, i dunno if they will believe your story...
"you have enough explosives to level a city block"
"noo we just blew up some ram"
"er, right what about all the buildings in a 1km area"
"umm, they were like that when we got here"
"is your last name bin laden?"
sorry to be the voice of reason here...

To continue the 'voice of reason' type motion I'll just say that even if you don't kill yourself the probability that you will kill some random person who happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time is extremely high...

I love what [H]arls did & I even have one of the picture's of his ram on fire as my desktop wallpaper but what some of you are talking about seems like alot of stupid s***....
Why not just go work for Bush and help him with his quest since you have so many great ideas!
IMO this thred has gone way off topic.

High explosive is not the only way to deal with faulty RAM, strong acid would be cool too.

Well for loud noises all you need is dry ice and a coke bottle. Gonna have some good fun at school this year.
But City, that is just STOOPID.
Now lets do the checklist
Have you made matchstick bombs?
Have you made Dryice bombs?
Have you made Chlorine bombs?
Have you made Petrol Bombs?
Have you ever made a Lemon Cannon?
Have you ever used a real firearm? (.22s don't count)
Have you any understanding of chemistry?
Have you any understanding of Explosives?
Do you have a big farm in the middle of nowhere?
Have you any certification saying you can do stufff without killing yourself?
Are you legally sane?
Do you understand the trouble you can get into with the law?
And finally, have youdone anything like this on a smaller scale?
If you answered NO to any of the above questions. STOP NOW!!!
Go and do all the above before continuing this idea.

One fun thing to do is instead of just blowing something up, howabout venting the exhaust from the blast out a nozzle so you have a rocket. Now that is fun, as it is more of a challenge since you have to look more into your casing materials and feul/weight ratio and all that as well. It also results in many explosions as well, since prototypes fail, and you go back to the drawing board to determine what went wrong. Also it brings more of a sense of acomplishment as you have created something, rather than justblown it to it'scomponent bits. But the same caveats apply, research and knowledge is the key, as well as having a safe place to do it.
Rocketry is cool, 'nuff said.
*wonders how far up he could launch some old comp bits*

well i dont no much about rockets but i do know that was what i was trying to make but the cilinder was too weak and well you can see what happend from my pics note the cilinder was no bigger than my finger and it made a crater in a car bonnet so if you are going to make a rocket make shore its strong

Guys, explosives=bad. Fire=good (unless you're in a Maryland night club). I don't know about you, but I'd rather not be investigated by the FBI/CIA/NSA/your investigative agency of choice as a result of this thread. Not that I've got anything to hide, it's just the principle of the thing.
If you want to try the burning thing, the trick is to get a fire that will burn for an extended time really hot. The concentrated acid idea would be awesome too. I'd actually try HCl since I believe it does an even better job at eating through metal than H2S04.
On a related note, it looks like I may have an almost brand new MB that's gone bad on me. I was working on it last night (painting on some UV paint). At one point I knocked the mb tray off my table and the heatsink (SK-7) fell off. After I finished up all my painting and went to turn the thing on, it won't power up at all. I jumpered the PSU and it does turn on, so I don't think it's the PSU. COULD be the CPU, though I don't see a CPU causing no power at all very likely. I'll dig out my old MB and try it out, see if I can't get it to work with that. Since I've painted the thing I rather doubt that they'll let me RMA it. I'm taking suggestions on best way to take it out (NO EXPLOSIVES!!!).
