One question i've always had is, do I need identical sized monitors to play multi-monitor games?

Yes and no - the resolution needs to be identical for Surround/Eyefinity, but the size doesn't matter AFAIK

Multiple monitors is just lame. Gaming with bezels can eat a dick.

Now the FPS on one screen and a birds eye battle map on the other, that is multi monitor gaming. Do we get that sort of loving anywhere yet?

Running 3x20" for Guild Wars 2.

Want to try a 27+ now I think. Bezels do suck, but surrounding yourself with angled LCDs does not.

I find the bezels a non issue. You really only look at the centre screen, the sides just add depth and atmosphere. It allows me to see other vehicles in Shift 2 pulling up beside me, or that extra zombie in L4D2. Can also be used for peering around corners to see if there's a nazi hiding (Sniper Elite V2) - ok that's cheating, but damn handy!

Update - Borderlands 2 works out of the box. No time for screenshots back off to kill things.
- edit - some menus are zoomed in.
