I am new to this forum, but I have to add my 2 cents.

Back in September I ordered two sticks of GEiL PC3200 Ultra Cas2 1T 256MB ram. I couldn't believe the deal I was getting on them. On their website GEiL claims this ram is very high quality and able to withstand at *least* 2.8v.

Well, since about November I have been getting random blue screens with random errors messages, my games crash out and my computer reboots. I kept blaming my Radeon 9700 Pro, thinking maybe there was an issue with 8x agp mode. Then I thought it was my sub-par A-Core tbred.

Lo and behold, I downloaded MemTest, ran it, and I ended up with 163 errors before Test #6 even finished.

Unless GEiL has changed their chip supplier or PCB production techniques I would not recommend this RAM to my worst enemy.

Btw, this is on an Asus A7N8X 1.04 mobo with a 430w Antec PS.
The CPU is a 2200 A-core Tbred oc'd to 2.0GHz 166fsb.

Bender88 welcome to the forums and thanks for your input however this is not a geil bashing thread incase you hadnt noticed and we dont intend it to be if youve had issues with it then you should contact the people you bought it from and sort it out
overall geil in NZ is distributed and RMA'd very well... Harls just chose to blow sh1t up instead whcih is much more enjoyable for the rest of us for sure, now i wonder what will happen to the other stick

hey harls got any monitors that may have looked at you funny would love to see that.... something reminiscent of "off the building" hehe

Just don't start mentioning cyanide
or Ricin, Anthrax, Ammonium nitrate...

percussive maintenance

yeah, this isnt a geil bashing thread, its just fate that it was geil ram that [H]arls dealt with.. it could well have been corsair, samsung, mushkin etc...

yeah but I think if the ram had some of that attention, then put back in his machine, it might have been fine.

[h]arls you should RMA it now.

And I am very glad that you had your *safety* bare feet on while burning/blowing this up.

D00d you SO should've let me know so I could come round for the BBQ....maybe next time we could "up the voltage" on the RAM, electricity loves me and I could use another kiss from a few electrons

*wonders if you could arc weld with a stick of ram*
