I got a bill from tellecom for this month and was a little surprised at the size of it, never having really loked at it before. It has the $34.95 charge that I expected but it also has a second charge under rental for $29.95 (Jststream starter access). I was sure it only cost 35 dollars for a month but this doubles the charge. Here's a breakdown of the whole bill:

Rental and Activity

$29.95 jetstream starter access
$2.50 Call Waiting
$45.00 Message Line (Homeline and call minder)

$77.45 Subtotal

$3.25 National Cals

Additional services

$34.95 Xtra

$115.65 TOTAL

Is that right?

I hope not or I owe a hundred bucks which will really suck.

Thanks for the help,

Haydan

yeah, that is about right, for jetstream you pay for the line rental, the jetstream charge and the ISP fee.

Heh, that catches quite a few people out ;)

Sadly, yes that is correct and it's time to sell a kidney to pay for it.

Well for me it cost me about $100 per months total ($40 line, $30 Jetstart line, $30 ISP)

If I use orcon I can save another $10 which would cost me $90, if I live in Welly/CHCH I would probably get another $8 dollar off..

It's amazing the amount of people who don't get the whole jetstream starter pricing structure... or worse -- have a completly skewed idea of the pricing structure. If I had a dollar for every time I've explained it...
