Im after a quiet 120 mill fan or 2 80 mill fans if they would be quieter.

It doesnt need to push much air just keep air mooving.

Should i get a high speed 120 mill or low speed 120 mill?

I was thinking that the high speed 120 mills would have stronger magnets therefore being able to spin at a lower voltage and in turn be quieter.

Opinions and what fan(s) should i get?

I've recently obtained an Enermax 120mm. It's certainly more effective than 2x80s imho, especially if you're using it on slow speed. 3 reasons to get one;
Small centre hub
Comes with a grill
Comes with a speed controller.
Specs here (http://www.enermax.com.tw/uc-8fab.htm)

I wasnt it quieter than my hard drive. thats all :D

Panaflo, Papst, Sunon etc all have pdf's or websites on the net with the full spec's eg: lowest operating voltage etc, rpm, noise...

The amount of voltage you give a fan doesn't affect the noise, the voltage affects the rpm and the rpm affects the noise. A subtle but important distinction.

eg:

12v 2000rpm vs 12v 5000rpm reduced to 5v 2000rpm - no difference in noise, better off getting the 12v low rpm and running it a 12v since that's the voltage the fan is designed for.

Ok thats a good point ragnor. I have thought your name is strange. originally i thought it is rangor!

Some fans like papst are loud compared to say a panflow (i have never heard a panflow) and fans like sunnons dont like to spin slowly.

What fan do you recommend? all i need it do do is keep the air mooving. so basically the quietest one possible.

So far alot of people have told me to get a panflow.

oh yeah I hate it when that happens you get a username in your mind a certain way and the oneday realise doh I had it totally wrong aka "how the crap did I not notice that before"

Basically oneday someone called me Ragnor because I looked like the main guy in the game "Rune" although it's Ragnar in that game and it stuck.

Panaflo or Papst... I can't remember the exact model numbers best bet is to search the internet for their sites and download the spec pdfs.

Both manufacturers have multiple models in the 120mm 12v DC range. Some low rpm and quiet some high rpm and loud.

the evercool 120's are pretty good....good airflow and not too loud, they look awesome too
