SB live output problems

ok... i've got a Kenwood NV 701 stereo.... has an onboard digital decorder which i use for my dvds and hollywood plus decoder card.... 5.1 sound, great. :)

i deceided to get a new soundcard and went the soundbalster way live way as it was $90 new... this card has a 5.1 digtal output on the card... It doesn't work properly... i only get stereo output.... i know its not the stereo cause it does dvds fine... the analgue output on the live is fine ( althought sub channel runs full range... ie about 150 hz)

i'm using the a mono 3.5 to single RCA for the ouput as thats all thats needed, accroding to the manual

just wondering if anyone else has had problems with this ???

also winamps progess bar and spectum analyiser doens't move now... whats with this...

Have you downloaded the most recent drivers/updates from Creative...?

what OS are you using? all the latest patches downloaded and installed?

check there and see if someone else has had the same problem (which they undoubtedly have)

It turns out the the 5.1 digital output is a bit of a have... it only outputs in stereo unless you ahve some overpriced creative speakers:mad: .... that have 3 seperate digital inputs...

so basically if you plan to use the 5.1 digital output for games on your big home feature system at home your wasting your time.

at least the analouge works fine

does the live not do a spdif output like the audigy? ... to output AC3 5.1 straight to your decoder?

I think you need to get a daughter card to get full 5.1 spdif out
