Having been searching through the forums I have only been able to find either old, or expensive, HTPC case suggestions.

Or, IMO, ugly. ;)

Can anyone please suggest a slimline case suitable for HTPC usage. The criteria are :

* must look a lot more like a DVD player than a PC (eg those Hush cases (http://www.hushtechnologies.com/) are perfect, but damned expensive  ).
* must be 150mm or less tall.
* must have one PCI slot (for a decent TV tuner card)
* preferably an external PSU in order to enable fanless operation
* silver or black (other options considered)

I'm quite happy to source and put together the internals, so a bare case is fine, or a built setup is also fine. It doesn't need any kind of LCD display unit etc.

For a pre-built item it should have a TV tuner, not merely a TV-in card.

As noted above, a cheaper Hush-look-alike would be absolutely perfect (by cheaper I'd say under $1400 complete).

Thanks :)

Why do you not just make your own? Will be cheaper in the end.

Unfortunately while I'm quite capable of configuring the internals (and the OS), I don't have the skills, materials, or facilities for making a case.

Hmm. Not sure. It's a little bulkier than I was looking for, and the internal PSU may make it quite noisy due to the fan.

How much would it likely be?

Going by the distributor links on that site it'd be roughly $800 inc GST if you manage to get the $100 off?

If the V7+ Fan mounted in the back of it aint even to keep me awake at night (with the help of DansteRRules)

The dam bright as LEDs at the front do a good job of keeping me awake while doubling as a nightlight so if u gota get up late at night to take a wee.... u can clearly see everything in the room...
