Can anyone explain why?

I'm pinging ok, but everything is warping like i'm on a 36k modem - and I've tried JSG, Xtra, Ihug and GP servers - for both RTCW and ET.

Plus I'm getting low download speeds.

Now, that means something BIG is getting a mmaaasssive hammering - so I'm curious. Anyone know WTF is going on out there in router-land?

( tons of mates on other ISP's such as Xtra, Paradise are getting the same thing - looks like it's at least NZ-wide )

The advantage of having a bad connection all the time is that you don't notice stuff like that. :)

Its probably the config of the new root server going in at auckland. I suspect they are messing up the net again.

Things seem to be stable for 3 months or so then there will be a week or so of crap. I've always thought that it is a new box somewhere getting sorted. The helpdesk will always tell you that it's yours :p

from what i've been told Telecoms DSL grid has turned to the dark side (eg, the status led's on equipment has gone out) the CMDA Network is a bit funny too =/

Word from telecom techs in the welly testing lab building was that they were doing some online testing of the new low latency settings which kinda borked the rest of the dsl backbone a little
