View Full Version : WPCUID name strings?
I was mucking around and got my chip to 1734Mhz.... woohoo.... yes I know not the greatest OC in the world but above average for www.overclockers.com :D
Anyway the thing that struck me was that there was no 2100+ PR which should = 1733Mhz..... does WCPUID have a DB of chip names or does it acually get the name off the chip (coz on my post screen it only clocks in @ 1714)
Oh yeah it's a 1700+ :D

Try a higher or lower fsb, on mine there are a few fsb's that produce just an Athlon id.
Good oc though, better than what you have at stock, my 1600+ (AGNGA) goes to 2000+ it would be stable except my Hyena 300w is crap so it's unstable.
I got a 250watt Aopen PSU and way too many case fans
New PSU next then new board :D

Well I have been told that basically my 300w is a 230w so I'm in big trouble.

[edit]Also, I.R. - what bus speed did you manage to squeeze out of your 1700+ before you unlocked it?
I think that's sitting on 149mhz in the BIOS...... I think that's about it as far as FSB OCing goes..... maybe 1-2 more Mhz but I've got crap ram and a crap modem and a crap NIC etc etc etc
I think I got it to 1648Mhz without unlocking it :(
Damn mobo and its crappy dip breaking on me..... I think my chip is getting near its ceiling coz that was done on 1.87 Vcore and this board only goes to 1.89

Yeah the XP's are rather good........ can't go any higher due to my 5+ rail being quite low
