Paradise file server[s]?

Hi, someone told me that if you're on ADSL, and you download patches etc off the paradise gaming file server, you get the full 8mbit connection that ADSL can give [if you are on paradise ADSL [which I am]]

is this true?

because I went on the site [http://gamers.paradise.net.nz/standard/pages/gamers/files/] to get some patches etc, and I checked if I could get the full 8mbit, and it wouldn't, it just went like normal

so is there a different server that i can get 8mbit to?
because I can on the jetstream games servers, right?

You certainly won't be able to get 8mbit anywhere if you connect using your normal user name and password.

If you connect to the Jetstreamgames realm, you can get 8mbit to whatever sites that can be accessed. I think in the past Paradise could be accessed on JSG, but now it can't. Can anyone confirm this?
