I know very little about microphones - but I think ( if this archaic knowledge is still correct ) a good brand to look for is 'Plantronics'.

I use a cheapo genius desk mounted one that works great for voice chat for games etc. Its not the highest quality in the world but its certainly easy to understand.
The disadvantages of headsets is *most* have pretty crappy headphones. That is compared to a decent set of headphones. I think that koss make a headset though that is supposed to be pretty good.

Righto, im in the market for a new mic to replace my ghetto setup at the moment and need suggestions.
Im looking for something l337 that hangs off my ear, without the headset preferably. Something that Delta Force would be happy to use ya know :D
Im using a $10 headset/mic at the moment that sits on top of my monitor and it works fine, but it just isnt cool :)
This would be l33t but I have no idea who makes it, if it works well, and how much it is. Im not going to pay $500 for a mic ;)

Probably not the way to go for gaming.. it's more of a mobile phone accessory.
Anyone find a source for the plantronics headset in this country?

go for something like the Audio technica... around $300 for the headset... you'll notice the quality.
Basically go into a music store and ask them what they have.
I used to use a Shure SM10A (until it got broken) and it was sooo much clearer than the ****ty $50 unit I have now.

I have the Plantronics .Audio 90 headset. Very nice headset, tough as old boots as well. Oh, and the cord is actually a decent length as well, which helps a lot (its a shade under 3 metres long)
I bought them at dse cos that was easiest for me at the time.
