currently, i'm a jetstart user...
an unhappy user in auckland...
firstly...
i would like to say that the price of broadband is very expensive in auckland...
secondly... they cap it
thirdly... the speed is........
fouthly is.... service provider hardly have any promotion....

why do i complain all this?
dunno...
i just feel that
the isp should bring down the price AND increase the speed...
and take off the 10gig or 5gig limits....

i believe that this is the way to promote the no. of internet users in NZ....

i just type this msg just to vast my anger...
hopefully no one flame me...
:)

(is there any flat rate broadband in auckland?? if there is... pls PM me...)
cheers....

Please refrain from making crazy rants, unless you are a crazy ranter. And have slightly easier to understand topics also. X is not really a good word to describe things with.

You may want to do a bit of reading first.

New Zealands broadband options Do indeed suck ass. But bithcing to Us won't fix it. *****ing to the ISP and telecom might.

The solution to your problem is to move to sweden. 26mbit private lines, for 30 USD.

You need to constuct your posts with more sense, and bring up NEW information. Also, it has been noted that some ISPs HAVE increased the caps, at an increased price.

Jetstart is the highest capacity internet available in NZ at the moment. (By capacity i mean traffic amounts) but you could have a look into Helix.net.nz and their wireless network.

Go get the NZ herald, and read the article about the broadband problems. Basically, until a LARGE and Powerful organisation steps in and makes broadband cheap, nothing will happen.

Remember. Sensible posts get sensible replys, dumbass posts get people angry, and if Whetu is really annoyed, can get you banned. :D

don't blame the isps... they're only the resellers. blame the wholesalers... and yourself for living in an isolated country... and canada.

bob.....
cool down...
why so worked up?
okie.. my post is insensible...
but i'm just expressing what i want to say....
i think i'm totally free to do it in here....
about the X thingy...

i'm not refering to anything besides EXPENSIVE....
X sounds like expensive...

move to sweden?
what for?
NZ is a nice place to live in....

get me banned?
is that a threat?

what i really want to relay is that...
i hope to see that the isp makes broadband cheaper...
have promotions like giving away free adsl(wif contract)...
let everyone have a chance to use the internet at HOME....
and lift up the standard of living....

if u wanna continue to flame me....
so ahead...
i just come in peace.....

From what ive heard ISP's dont make too much money from selling jetstart connections. What needs to happen is, like bob said, competition, or for telecom to lower their prices.

Telecom is supposedly introducing its new pricing scheme in (or around) september, but noone really knows whats going on there.

For current jetstart connections your best bet would be Orcon as they have the cheapest rates at the moment, however I heard that Walker Wireless is in the middle of a project in the auckland CBD, may be worth a look.

And X in no way at all means, or suggests expensive.

I think people need to lighten up. Getting upset at "..." isn't worth it, getting upset at nonons first post is stupid, he said he was just venting. There are better things to worry about than this thread.

Welcome to the forums nonons, stick around and enjoy your stay. I thinks you just caught some people on an off day. Usually we are a very friendly bunch.

nonons, here's a hint from way up here at the top:

Please try to speak in correct english. speaking in txtish, while efficient on a cellphone, is percieved as lazy here. Lazy people are thought of as stupid, so if you dont want to appear stupid, put in that smidgen of extra effort to press that one extra key that turns "wif" into "with"

It's not too hard when you think about it

This reminds me of an old quote:

"Arguing on the internet is like scratching your nuts, it may be fun at the time, but no-one really cares."

I have no idea how that was relevant, its been in my head all day and I just needed to say it somewhere.
Oh yeah...down with Telecom! Booo! Hissss!

'Arguing on the internet is like the special olympics. Even if you win, you are still retarded'

If you think its that bad, make a billion dollars, and put telecom out of buisness by going hard and making a l33t broad boand service.

Otherwise stfu and deal with it, thats what everyone here is doing

/me extends the olive branch.

But yeah, i think the general idea is " We Are all being skull****ed by telecom, and we need to speak in legible language"

I might sleep now.
