Very interesting looking. Is there an explanation behind the heatsinks up by the ports? (other plan heat please :p).

I still dont like leadtek (for anything other than vid cards). Dont ask me why.

I love it, looks like it's around the $280 mark?

Don't know if I would get that over an Abit NF7 2.0 though.

Looks like a nice design. Does it use the MCP-T southbridge?

Hans

yes, i know im a newbie, but what is that blue slot next to the PCI slots for?

SilverPriest

It's either a CNR or an AMR slot.
Communications network riser, I forget what AMR stands for.
It will be one of the two.

They're generally used by OEMS for crappy software modems & soundcards etc.
Generic cheap stuff to add features to make joe consumer go "wow!"

That's my take on it at least :)

never mind, i found out :)

mmmm, thats a very very nice board!

Oh, and i think AMR stands for American Modem Riser (well, thats what i was told anyway).

AMR actually stands for Audio/Modem Riser

damn, i was so close.
Hey, why do they put AMR and CNR slots on? I am yet to see any AMR or CNR things on the market.

MoNk

Yeah, isnt a CNR slot one of those REALLY small brown slots?

Like these?

But then googleing "AMR Slot" also brings this up:

i thought the blue slot was a ACR slot, Advanced Communications Riser

and there are no components avaiable still?

leadtek mobo's come with a card, my flatmate has a firewire card for that slot, also has a few other things on it i think,

mightybob

yes, both Xpressah, and Valium were correct.

It is the ACR slot, which is for the Leadtek Firewire card.

I found this out by reading another OCNZ review of a leadtek board that also has the slot (http://www.overclockers.co.nz/ocnz/review.php?id=03boardnforce20leadtek0k718gpro0105) .

So, is it only used for the firewire card that comes with it, or can you buy other accessories off the shelf for it too?

(firewire card: http://www.overclockers.co.nz/ocnz/reviewimage.php?id=03boardnforce20leadtek0k718gpro 0105&file=firewire.jpg)

Its a multifunction ACR card.
