I'm trying to install uxthemepatcher..... ok this is what happens......... I get the uxtheme.pat file in the C:\windows\system32 directory and when I rename the uxtheme.dll file to uxtheme.bak (as intructions suggest) the renamed uxtheme.dll file is automatically replaced with the original after about 4 seconds.
I have renamed the uxtheme.pat file to .dll before the original appears but the original overwrites it automatically.
Anyone know why it's replacing it and/or know of a solution?

First of all make sure you don't have your WinXP cd in the drive, I think you also need to make sure you clear the dll cache.
I didn't have any trouble with mine, it did say that I had some "bad" files on my computer and would I like to replace them with authentic files, but you just click "NO SOD OFF" and everythings fine.
I hate to pimp other forums, but if you check out www.neowin.net there will be something there, just do a search on the forums.
Good luck man

My mates xp is doing it as well, however the cleared cache didn't fix it (I suspect crappy PC Company software setup)
