Any Serious gamers in taranaki wanting a decent LAN there is going to be one at ZEAL (accros the road from KFC) this lan will be a gaming lan, no leaching unless it is game related i.e updates ect.

Depends on what sort of n00b..... if someone turns up with a P133, win95 and no network card... and then wants to know why he can't play play minesweeper over the network... then that's what you don't want.
If someone turns up, knows how to set an IP address and has all the latest games (all patched)... you can get more gaming done and hence have more fun.... and there's plenty of them to fill seats (as long as they know about it).

This "no leeching" trend is rather alarming... I'm still after a copy of the latest RH distro ;)

Yeah I know what you mean, but show me one person who didn't start out as a nub :) As for RH... I pretty sure I've got that somewhere, but it might be imbedded into 30-40gigs of 'other' stuff ;)

Newbis ruin the games such as C&C Generals because they just get wasted to easly and games like CS which i hope wont be played they dont know how to buy **** so u c these guy running round with glocks and no armor and die within like 1 shot wih a colt :P the word newbi should be changed to "People With no ****ing clue" :D

well that LAN was highly gay, practically no gaming at all and the stupid ****ers had lan gaming pings of 100 till me and a mate fixed the probs with a non 10mbit hub :rolleyes: .
on a good note i did leech 45gb of "linux isos" :D

hehe well you can only hope the organisers learn from their mistakes ;)

though if they are using 10mbit networking, they obviously havent been reading "how to run a lan for dummies"
