View Full Version : Case window rough surface/marks
Hey all,
My first post on this forum :-)
Anyways, I bought one these case windows with my Neon Light case.
http://www.ascent.co.nz/images/products/107993-2.jpg
When I got it, it had a plastic seal over it (to prevent scratches) so I ripped it off and it left marks all over the window.
They aren't scratches but the window looks very messy and yucky, probably due to the plastic ? Or is it just the window...
Is there anything I can get to wipe the window clear ??
Cheers

Try some glass cleaner, thats what I use to clean my window and it works well.

I'm picking that it is some form of glue that has been left behind.
If glasscleaner doesn't seem to work try using eucolyptis oil.
hey guys
i tried Ajax glass cleaner. It appeared to be working but when i wiped it dry it was still there. however the window is now a little clearer.
yeah i think it could be glue too.
Geek4life: where can i get this eucolyptis oil?
cheers

I think it is in most supermarkets, near the herbal remedy stuff, otherwise look in other places which have herbal remedy stuff...

or some isopropyl alcohol should get it off.... failing that try smearing on some brasso, wipe it off and clean it up with some window cleaner.

I wouldnt recommend using meths as Binky Stunt Cat says. I once used meths to clean the marks from boxing tape off my sea monkey tank and it stuffed up the plastic/perspex stuff - it made it kind of frosted, but it thats the effect you're after...
[edit] Sorry, didn't see the last post :p

Just a note, Ammonia based glass cleaners will make perspex go cloudy over time as you use it:eek:. I guess it solowly seeps into the plastic or something. I can't remember where I read this. Though it was only a couple of months ago.
You could try Pledge or some other furniture polish. though i dont know if it has similar effect. pledge is a wonder for scratched cds though .
