View Full Version : AMD Barton XP-2500+ OCed to XP-3200+
Got my brand new Barton XP-2500+ today.
Here's the CPU.
Test bed:
Epox 8RDA+
Corsair XMS-3200 TwinX
Crappy T.T. V7+ with 120mm fan
Results
Stable at 2200MHz (11*200) with 1.70V/core or 2300MHz with 1.775V/core.
Will try to post some more pictures later.
But it's quite a nice oc for such a cheap chip, XP-2500+ to XP-3200+.

Well done, I can verify similar results with my XP2500+.
And by getting higher than 2200Mhz you have already out-performed the stock XP3200+, congratulations :)
What is the highest FSB you have had so far?
Here's a CPUID shot.
I will see if the CPU can run @ 2200Mhz with 1.675V/core.
It sure is hot though, sitting @ 50 degrees (core temp) with a room temp of 20 degrees and that's with a SLK-800.
Max heat output = 87.02W ( http://newstuff.orcon.net.nz/wCalc.html )
The highest FSB that I tried is 220MHz * 10x.

What I'm most impressed about is the voltage that you're using to pull this. Auteur! auteur! A lot of people have been pulling 1.8 or so to hoist em up to 2200, you're out of their league.
I was going to get a t-bred b, but it just seems stupid not to spend an extra $60. Thanx for the headsup on your source, he'll hear from me within the week!

Chucked mine in today, got it to 2200mhz @ 1.7v
No biggie, however my a7n8x can't handle 200 fsb no matter how high i crank the vmem, or what timings i use :(
Just craps out in 3dmark.
Currently running stable @ 2057 (187x11) @ Stock Vcore
Quite a cool running cpu too, it still hasn't gone over 30c :)
Here's a piccie showing the old vs the new :)

Yeah, that's why I replaced my A7N8X with a NF7-S V2.0.

I just got a barton on a zenith ct-7jns ( ulta ).
Overclocks primo , I have done the same oc ( 2500+ --> 3200+ , 200mhz FSB ) usuing the default votage. Temp was around 44 - 47 degree's under load ( temp is taken from the diode on my mb )
I put the FSB up to 218 to try it last night night and It booted into windows and blue screened when running pc mark. That was still usuing the default voltage though so when I get some time today ill have a play and hopefully can get it stable around there.
