While you are at it, flick the 533Mhz chip into the 800Mhz board and take a look.. Usually find some interesting results.

keeping in mind that in memory bandwidth with the gigabyte boards its a trade off ..Ie the features..[awesome..Gb lan sata usb2 etc..] and overclockability..i find that to wind up the cpu's fsb to a stage where itll still get me into bf online for hrs without laggin/crashing..then 2.85 was about a happy meduim as the chip would still run with minmal voltage increase [on air after 2.8 things start to get hot quick..especially with more volts] ..and the sns syndrome with electromigration is a factor [ mainly aftr 1.75 volts] worth avoiding with intel so i play it safe with the voltages..

gygabyte boards..i find setting the ram clock down to 200 lets me wind the cpu fsb ..

yes tiggerz id imagine that evn at default the 2.53 b on an 800 mhz dual ddr board with the ram set to slots 1-4..would show a significant improvement as well...

another interesting thing that happened on clean install with the 2.8c was the xp drivers just didnt handle the extra b/width at all ..open windows were laggy as hell till i threw in some 43/45 dets..then it flew..

edit : also my hertz went from a capped 120 hrtz [ proveiw 19"] to a possible 200..although currently @ 85 hrtz
