Hell I'll even give $15 to the best desktop at the end of the month (provided you gimme ur bank details so I can deposit the green when I announce)
Please post them as 800/600 MAX res.
Nothing over.
Also, donations are accepted to the "SilverPriest needs more Tui fund":D

No problems, desktop weather can be found at http://www.desktopweather.neonerds.net/ :D
I only just started to put cars on my desktop, usually I've got pics of deep space, or abstract stuff.
Oh and you can't see on the pic but I'm running the ChosenOS theme :D

Ditto.
To me looks come a very distant second to usability. And MS aren't morons - their default settings are a VERY good combination for readability.
Man, -=DEI[]v[]OS=- - you're just making my dually withdrawl worse :(.
BTW, anyone using any good multi desktop ( not necissarily multi monitor ) software? The win XP Power Toy for multi desktops is kinda.... average....
I really like the way RedHat/Mandrake do it. It's fast and built in, using little desktop space, and requiring only 1 click to switch desktops. The Win XP powertool either needs 2 clicks ( and is slow ), or uses a lot of desktop space.
I dunno, I may run 1600, but I prefer to use 3 ( I dunno, just never seem to use the 4th ) desktops.
BTW, this post is relevant, see:
How about we start showin a bit of apps and stuff....

KJ, although your such an OC GOD i still would not do as what was suggested by A666, its just not me, sorry :p
But back to the themes .. i personally dont like the blue one because it looks plain ugly and everyone seems to use it to "show off" XP .. i'll take the standard, YES the standard W9X theme in XP anyday. :D

Doesn't everyone have themselves in their trillian contact list?
There really is nothing more enjoyable than having two accounts and signing in to one with Trillian and the other with MSN/ICQ then chatting yourself up :D
or is that just me :p

Only trouble with multiple signins is that the contacts get merged :( My (ex)girlfriend sat down and before I knew what she was doing all my contacts were hers and hers were mine....... good for digging up some dirt eh ;) :D

It can be quite good really. When you get a new account because the old one was getting too much spam. Just log in with trillian and the contacts are transferred.

More worthwhile IMHO, but hey, each to their own.

You seem confused.
SetiDriver is a CLI manager - a wrapper of sorts. The CLI is simply a parser and list of commands that have to be carried out on a data unit. A data unit is just a bunch of frequency and intensity values.
Data Units
The data units are what you store up lots of. They'll be in the files:
<SETIDRIVERFOLDER>/#/work_unit.sah
They're binary data, and they're what you 'crunch', and download. They're generic - the same across all OS's and platforms ( SPARC, Motorola, Intel, AMD - anything ). They're the satellite data from the big radio-telescope arrays overseas.
CLI
The CLI ( Command Line Interface ) is the program that does all the work. It has been pre-compiled ( no source is distributed for security reasons ) for your OS and platform. The CLI is only downloaded once ( and re-downloaded when it becomes obsolete ), and only one copy is needed:
<SETIDRIVERFOLDER>/<SOMELONGCRYPTICNAME>.exe
By default, the CLI will first download a unit, then crunch it, then send the results back. As it goes, it saves it's progress into several other .SAH files. If the CLI is started on a unit that has already been started, it will resume from where it last left off.
The manager
SetiDriver, in this case, just starts the CLI on a unit. When the CLI finishes, it halts the CLI ( stopping it from auto-sending the unit ), and closes it. It then opens the CLI again on another work unit. To you, this looks like a program that goes along and crunches units one by one ( or two by two, etc - where you use multiple instances it just spawns multiple threads using the same EXE file ).
The manager allows you a few features such as stashing up ( hence one manager is called SetiStash ) work units, and crunching them in succession without you having to write a script to manage that.
Make sense now?

Thank you so much KJ and SP!!
I've got it all setup properly now, thanks for showing my SETI Driver n00b a$$ how to get it going, thanks :)
