good idea, you'd be able to walk into a lan with your computer on your back and your monitor in your arms :D

I think thats a really good idea, wouldn't mind doing something like that myself. I would be interested to see some pics when it's all finished. :)

Sounds like a phat idea!

How would you install peripheral cards though?? I guess you'd have some cool ideas already(?). Can't wait to see the finished article if you ever do it!

PS are you talking a lap-top or just a Mobile PC?

*shop around and see if you can find a mATX psu.. tricky to find but you'll get a crapload of space...

*if possible, ditch the floppy drive. in most cases its not needed.

thats all i've got so far...

if you do find a mATX psu, can ya tell me where ya found them ;)

I'm not desperate for any, just that they'd be kinda handy in a project I have...

Do you think that the bag will be stable enough & perhaps you might need some kind of framing inside? Any plans for that kind of idea? I was thinking (more) that the peripheral cards standing up from the mobo would wobble loose on the way to the LAN (or wherever). Also have you considered how to mount the HDD to reduce the possibility of damage?

Alrighty you've let the cat out of the bag now Whetu; Whats your idea??

arent there kitset frames that you can use to make your own case from??

if you mean the one i think you mean they're probably not really suitable for this purpose...

he'd probably have to take apart a case or two to get a framework set up inside....
and a sliding MB tray would be a nice touch too...

just to steal this thread for all of 2 sidetracked posts (this topic is not worthy of a new thread as i'm keeping this one to myself, article for RNZ ahoy ;))

but i may as well give you guys a chance to guess

here is my ummmm "office" about a week ago and in a completely messy state..

its changed now, i have a pair of subs under the desk and its a lot tidier, BUT what would make efficient use of space, be portable, be kewl looking, have a huge g33k factor AND to top it all off, reduce the noise presented by all the equipment?

thats all i'm going to say about it. This is system's thread after all.
