I know someone in Hamilton who may be coming up, if all you need is a ride.

Grrr!!

A ride is not the issue, I'll be in wellington.

Otherwise I'd ask Sanchez or BMan.

Maybe next time ;).

Yep last time we had about 8 ppl playing flashpoint mostly doing co-op missions, it was bloody good fun.

The more the better, if we get enough we could do some good PVP games...

Anyways the lan/pizza/beer combo of PZ should be enough to convince you to come Soggy....

Yeah man - I've been going hard working on some respawn scripts to make the sessions a bit more fun for those who tend to go for glory a bit tooo early!

Will be keeping the old scripting tricks from the last PZ4, like the rotorwash...

http://www.bm4n.orcon.net.nz/ofp01.jpg

And have added an excellent blood addon that came out recently...

http://www.bm4n.orcon.net.nz/ofp07.jpg

... which looks awesome in action. The splatter is based on the direction and power of the impacting round.

Additionally you leave a blood trail if you're wounded... very cool.

I should have some excellent missions completed by the time PZ5 is on us!

I have tried some other layouts, But with the BIG SQUARE, no-one stomps on the network cables, and power cables, plus its easy to spot ppl that are(n't) meant to be touching the networking switches, cables.

Not the best use of the space, will change if the need arises :D

As has been said on GeekNZ if theres enough interest there needs to be an OFP lan on for it solely :D

Lanholm venue is always open for 24 hour lans. 48-80 hour lans it really needs to be school holidays due to the primary school across the road using it

/me will kill for bigass game of DesertCTF

All the flashpoint players are coming out of the wood work now arent they.

Great, all come to PZ5, we can play some EPIC games there, and oganise some other ofp gaming sessions...

Thinking A4 would be a good place to hook up with lots of others..

ya lucky man :D

Am very keen on playing some Operation Flashpoint at this lan, havent had a 6+ person game of it for ages.

MJ Havoc, Can I bring my dedicated server along again? Last time it proved to be quite handy for the OFP games. Its also pre-setup for Americas Army/Unreal2k3/BF1942/Desert Combat/Aliens Vs Predator2 and Direct connect servers.
If you are short on switch space I can bring my 8port switch.

Soggy Chips
18-06-2003, 02:32 PM
If network help is needed we can bring along two 8 ports and two 5 ports if needed.
If the venue has a 3 phase plug well bring along our 3phase to single phase coverter if needed :P

The twins (asdf and twitch) will bring along cobalt which is our wee little fserv/tfc/ofp server with all our mods/maps/etc

We normally on get to have 8 player games but this amount of people will be wicked :D

Deviant
18-06-2003, 03:32 PM
Yes it's got 3 phase. Last time I think he had 2x 24port managed switches, with a 600 or 800 MHz backbone, which took up some of the ports, and thus needed an extra 8 port switch. I guess he'll let you know anyways.

CmdrChris
18-06-2003, 03:40 PM
sounds like others are taking dedicated servers for OFP, not much point brining mine then.

But I will move the 100gb of storage into my desktop for ya's.

Oh yeah Mj Havoc, can you sign me up for the AA tourney as I reg'd before that was an option...

Bman
18-06-2003, 04:14 PM
Bring your server CC - if it isnt too much trouble that is, it might be handy if some people want to play different missions than others!

Im not too keen on OFP pvp stuff as it seems to promote camping. I'll play Q3 for deathmatch stuff...

YES we need regular ofp lans....would be awesome!!!

me & snake and few other mates have OFP lans almost every weekend!!
so if anyone from hamilton.....or close enough to drive....is keen on a few games, we should organize something.
me & snake are in the process of cleaning out my big double garage....should be able to fit 10-12 people easy.
could also put 6-8 people up for the night if accomadation is needed.

Soggy Chips
18-06-2003, 06:15 PM

Major Havoc
19-06-2003, 12:35 PM
Its kewl if you want to bring one (Ded Server)
But remember paying customers take priority, ie 15 dollars only gets you one spot.
What we could do is place all the servers on a separate table, on another switch, bear in mind that it will all be on one 100 Meg link between the switch and the main network !! So Place all your files on your games machine (Main Network).

As this is gonna be a BIG ONE, I Suggest we do this, have all dedicated game servers, on the seprate table. Don't need anymore switches, will I have 2x24 port Managed switches, 1x16 Switch, 3x24 port switching hubs. But I can't stop you bringing one, if you want.

How does that sound, we can try this out and change it need be !

AND PLEASE NOBODY BEFORE 12 noon, AS WE HAVE TO SET UP THAT MORNING AS THE HALL IS BEING USED ON FRIDAY NIGHT.

Q's / Thoughts ?

Soggy Chips
19-06-2003, 04:27 PM
More than fair enough on the dedicated boxes as there only just there to make life easier and not a nessisty. our dedicates are rmotely acessible so as long as they are in a secure place theres no prob putting them on a different table or whatever.

sounds like your more than sussed for switches so we wont bring along the switches.

Sounds all good _b

I have got a copy of the Tron 2 MP demo, we should give that one a try at this lan. Looks like it could be a bit of retro-fun

Also have Elite Force II, which the multiplayer could worth a try.

I am just hankering for some new MP games, I am a bit sick of the std BF1942 and DC/Unreal 2k3 multiplayer stuff very keen to crack into some new games...

I have got the server back up and running (P4 2.53/512mb DDR) so we can use that for whatever games are needed.

racer (www.racer.nl) could be worth a go, its a free driving sim with multiplayer support, and user made tracks/cars etc.

pretty heavy requirements though, my poor mx420 dies everytime some smoke appears :(

Cheers, that looks pretty good, the PZ guys are pretty keen on their Racing games, so I bet they have played it already.

Will have to give it a try.

True Combat http://www.planetquake.com/q3t/ a mod for Q3 is also quite alot of fun.
Played it at a LAN last weekend and for a game we meant to play for about an hour or so it stretched out to about 3 hours as everyone was having a blast (was from 3am till 6am)
Is sort of like Raven Shield but alot faster and you can actually take a hit and not die

For a bit more info on the LAN have a look here http://www.prodev.co.nz/mdk/index.php

Space sweet as, POWER POWER POWER
Power is king,

Racer.nl yeah played it heaps me and BMan and Monza had the RX3 Drag Cars.. its pretty good

I have sent an email out, will be setting up for as many as possible, but those who registered will have a seat, and those that turn up on the day, hoping for a seat, may or may not depending on Power, But I will endevour to get as many people in. I will have 3x24 port switches and 1x16 port switch, so networking side is sweet, space is sweet, its just the POWER issue.

Make sense

Cmdr Chris sweet new games !!!
