Ok I need a “hit counter” that will run on a Linux web server
It’s the first time that I have need to put one in and I have been googleing for the last 2 hours and I cant find a thing that says will run on a Linux server

When I say hit counter I’m on about the ones that count the number of people that come to the site

Could some one point me to a web site that has info in this?
Or point me in the right direction with html or java or some thing?

Thanks
