Just wanna say hullo to the forum and a big thanx to Ming for helping me out on the phone today. I thought it was about time I stopped lurking and put up a public face - well nickname anyway LOL
I recently qualified as a Graphix Designer - a PC lover who was forced to have train on $#$%@#$ Macs ewwwwwww - and have got kinda fed up with my lack of working knowledge of my basic tools of trade, ie: my PC hardware. I am medium-advanced user in regards to op system (win2k pro) and graphix/web design software but an utter wimp at any hardware that doesn't plug into a PCI slot.
I am just about to take the plunge and build a monster graphix PC so I can set myself up to work from home as a freelancer. Also about to take a head first dive into learning the Linux platform. So I am here to learn and ask a lotta dumb newbie hardware questions and will help out where I can if peeps need graphix software support. I do part-time Photoshop tutoring IRL.
