I dont mean to make you feel bad, but you shoulda saved a few extra pennies and got a Ti4200.
Theyre much faster cards with a lot more features, but yes, from what I have played with the Gainward 440, its a pretty stable card.

to give you an idea:
that card put my debt from $220, to $480...ouch
so from what ive heard (harls's post) its an ok card, doesn anyone have an idea as to whats wrong with my hdd?

*mods, if it turns directly to my hdd, can you move this thread to the troubleshooting section?*

got the card.

Upgraded frm Leadtek GF2 to Gainward GF4 MX440 NoN GS

not much of a upgrade, but im happy with the results, GTA3 boost upto 15FPS, and got like 800 point boost in 3dmark2001.

This card is pretty good at OCing too. On a cold day, With Stock Cooling and a 120mm Fan Blowing Directly above it, i was able to clock this card to

Core: 270@327
Mem: 400@480

try installing the Det 29.42 drivers for best performence.

um, if you read my first post, it says i havent had a chance to try it...hdd?
all i know is the GS has a higher mem rate and oc's better *supposedly* thats generally sums up the back of the box.
heh, just glad i didnt get a mx420......*whistles* damn that would suck:cool:

opps, lol yah it'll really be funny if u had a mx420,

a mate of mine told me over the phone with excitement saying he's gotten a Geforce4, and i was like WOW, went to his house and checked out the card and i started laughing at him, as he'd purchased a MX420, but even after constantly laughing at him (was sad of me for doing it) he finally told me off, and said
at least my Geforce4 is faster than ur Leadtek GF2 Pro 32mb DDR (which i had before, but hav sold it now) :D

AHAHHAAAHAHHHAAHAHHAAAHAHAAAHHA
sory asan, but your mate is a grade A
DUMBFVCK!
ah damn that story is funny!!!
i would seriously prefer my eagle gf2mx400 with the lack of green and yellow colour filters so it only shows variants of red and blue (aka pink, lots of pink)

reasoning for this
eagle: expected to suck, keeps expectations up to this level
mx420: is a gf4, gf4's arnt exactly known for thier ****to abilities...with this as an exception. therefore, if you buy an mx420 and go to a heavily popular lanparty- YOU GONNA GET T3H MOCKING!

Its funny how you have to take GeforceX with a grain of salt as far as X is concerned. X is not necessarily slower then Y, with regards to nvidia nomenclature. Geforce'X' seems to refer to X's year of manufacture, not X's performance.

My geforce2mx performed worse then a geforce256 DDR, and an 4mx420 is worse then a 3 ti200, etc. New hardware slower then old, yet with new series name. Damn annying really.

Just thought of it this way for once.
