According to someone in Anandtech forum, BX chipsets only count half of it(one side)?
I have a 256mb double sided Corsair xms150 dimm and it counts it all in "memory test" in post screen and also in windows things like system info.
Do u think its poss it counts it but only uses half of it?

what version of windows are you using?
if 9x go find a memory usage display utility
if 2k/xp press ctrl+ shift+ esc which brings up task manager, click on "performance" and view your memory usage.
come to your own conclusion there...

Some BX boards had problems.. especially those from the trailer park manufacturers like DFI, ECS etc... but most BX based board (especailly later revisions) are fine
