Auckland LAN!

Ok

This is about my 3rd post regarding a 'Auckland Lan' but this one is definately going ahead :D

Location: Manukau Institute of Technology
Date: Saturday 6th July
Time: 9:30am till 9:30pm (campus security wont allow overnight :()
Cost: FREE (Just dont break anything) + Food
Games: SOF2, Warcraft3, NWN, MOHAA, RTCW, Jedi Knight2 etc.

Technically it's supposed to be for MIT students but the response has been fairly measly to say the least. I'm still waiting for a mass mail-out which should hopefully happen today which might catch the attention of a few more people.

I wanna get the numbers up to something decent, so as long as I dont get a last minute rush from MIT students wanting to come (which is fairly unlikely), you guys are welcome to join in.

Yeah well, that's what you get when the LAN is set on the day that I'm working on an ARIA phone system (and wiring) all day.
From 8AM until 5PM'ish probably. After that all i'll want to do is go to bed.

Hey my missus isn't working that weekend (she can look after the kids), so I can come. I have to convice one of my mates to give me a lift, so if it's alright can I bring a mate? I'm sure I can scrounge 2 or 3 mates if your short.

And for those of you who havent noticed, its been moved from tomorrow to next saturday. We would have lost around 6 people if we held it this week so it made sense to push it back a week. Plus we had some problems with the dedicated server so we've got time to sort it out next week.

We had the room booked, we always intended on having it on a saturday during the holidays and yet they failed to unlock anything!

Arrgg, the building and gates were still locked and noone is at the admin office! :mad:

They TOLD us that it was fine to have it on this saturday as long as we were out by 9:30pm (the usual closing time...)

All the planning and hauling the server around yesterday was a huge waste.. :mad:

what a complete f&%k up.

we drove all the way from the north shore to come to this bloody lan and we get there and no fu&^er is there.

and we ended up driving through the Otara markets and just about ended up running over Helen Clarke, and you can rest assured there are better ways to spend ones saturday morning.

My friend who helped my organise it was there waiting for anyone else, while I went to go look for someone from campus security. He hung around for a while longer and just rang about 10 mins ago to say he was leaving.

Please don't shoot the messenger, it wasn't like I intended for security to not unlock the building like they should have...

Lol...i went to the LAN, at first i asked around where was J Block and finally found the place, to my suprise everything was locked. I was like OHH DARN im late and theyve locked everything up, then i saw this chinese dude and said if there was ne way of me getting inside the buildings :p, lol, and he jst told me everything was locked.

Didnt bother me tht much as my dad took me to the campus and he was on his way to his CLUB.

i should hav asked for ur mobile number to make things much easier :D

yah me too ayy, i was there at 11 something, and i too went around the building, but everything was locked, and it didnt see nebody.

My friend was parked around the other side, near the library, which was also where I parked when I first came. He was hanging around the building but he had to keep an eye on his car as well...

I emailed my contact at MIT and haven't heard back yet. To be honest I'm not overly keen on going through all this sh*t all over again but just give me a day or two to cool down, and we'll see...

no worries, dont mind me mate, im not angry at all, my house is jst like 10mins away frm MIT so i really dont care :D, so if theres another LAN going on at MIT be sure to contact me as i wouldnt mind coming again :)
