hmm, or you can wait a while, and the xp2100+ will replace the XP1700+ priceswise, ;) and you get faster CPU, :)

By that time we may all be Bartons. How much were the 1700's anyway? I bought the 2100 tb myself.

I thought it was interesting because the 1700 tbred B's seem to be the thing to get these days. Some ppl are going to miss out.

I dont think its to much of a worry

the 1700+ use the JUIHB stepping and seem to be good for around 2.1GHz on moderate air with only moderate voltage increase
the 2100+ use the AUIHB stepping and seem to be good for around 2.3GHz on moderate air with only moderate voltage increase

so if the XP2100+ are to replace the XP1700+ hopefully that will mean they will come down in price to where the XP1700+ is now ($130ish), so you wont loose out on anything.
