For some reason my smoothwall intrusion detection keeps getting disabled even though the box remains ticked, any reason for this?

use https://address:445 instead of http://address:81... seems to only really work through the https for me

what specs you got? your rig might not be capable of running all the services you want, so you'll prolly have to look at disabling some services if you really want IDS

see if you can add more ram.. i think that when smoothwall got to .9.9p8 that required ram went up significantly.. eg you couldnt apply the patch with 32megs of ram without disabling services... i have 64megs in mine and it runs fine...

Running all services here ok with 32Mb of ram, same setup basically P166 840Mb Drive, no issues what-so-ever.

hmm, mine is a cyrix200 running with just 16mb of RAM and a 2gb HDD. All services running fine with GPL2.0beta2 no issues on it, although it is sometimes a bit slow to respond to requests when doing other things, e.g dialling while trying to view log files.
