Logitech 340's, 540's and 640's?

Just wondering what the differences are between them, and which one is most worth getting?

I know 540's have 2 more speakers than the 340's, but is there any other difference between them two?

What the difference between the 540's and the 640's?

Guessing that the "3" stands for 3 piece set, and "5" stands for 5, and "6" stands for 6 piece?

your guesses would be correct.

the 340 is a 2 speaker + sub, the 540 is a 4 speaker + sub and the 640 is a 5 speaker + sub.

340: play music
540: play music / games
640: play music / games / dvd's

or something like that.

The Z-540 is a 4.1 system but I'm guessing would pump out as much noise as the z-640's since they are very evenly priced.

the z-640's is a 5.1 system so you get a center speaker this time, I personally have ths and I LOOOOOVE it.

the 560 however is a BIG MOFO, this is what Harls has/had. only 4.1 system but hot damn 400w!!!

i think you're talking about a THX model there sydog :/ unfortunately I cant afford the THX ones >.< priced at like $450-550 off memory :o

Is the 560 THX? I could see it was kinda out of your price range given its double the price of the other systems, but thought you might want to know about it anyways :p

it's pretty hard to beat the 640s for value... Harvey Normans had em for sale for $180... dunno if they still do.

For music 2.1 is fine, as music only comes with 2 channel, for gaming then 4.1 is better, for DVD then 5.1 is better.

nah it was definitely $179 for the 640s... i was kicking myself coz i didn't have any spare cash at the time. but like i said on the hub it was a while ago.
