Pianting the fan blade on the cpu sooler is pretty damn cool. It reminds me of the brakes on Rally cars when they race at night - rally of Italy I think. Slewing round the tarseal corners of this small village - the brakes glowing red hot through the mags....

Any paint or hardware store should have something which will show up well under UV.

Theres also some nail-polishes available which "glow" also, I was going to see if I can find some of that tomorrow becuase i reckon it will be easier to apply to the small fidly bits.

thanks for the comments, and for the plug h2g0, good to see that for a first attempt it's getting some international recognition :)

i had hoped to get the cpu fan looking like a disk brake....i ordered a led that to hook up to sit in between the heatsink fins, so it glowed from the inside out....but couldn't figure out where to wire it to. Went down to hardware house to get some white paint, cause i was going to paint the inside of the side panel white, so it'd reflect the uv even more, saw the reflective stuff and thought hmmmm that might work :) sprayed both on paper, white didn't reflect but orange was better than i expected, so got to work, and left the side panel alone.

some other pics with side panel off:
http://forums.overclockers.com.au/showthread.php?s=&threadid=69522

theres a pic where you can see through to the front of the case, the two fans there have now been painted orange too, since it looked better than i had anticipated......at the weekend i'll get some pics in daylight, even with the lights off it still looks cool as some of the cards are full silver (except the edges) :)

......and as h2g0 said, do better....this is my first mod attempt, so it'd be easy for you to do too.....i've got a few ideas still floating in my head, but i don't want to do too much or else it'll look over done :)

edit - got h2go name wrong :(

That fluro Green perspex really reacts well to UV, one of my CD cases has it and it glows like buggery :)

Yellow Highlighters also work well. Though "painting" the edges of a video card with one dosent work to well cuz the pcb absorbs the ink. Good for detailed drawings on the bottom of cases, and highlighting metal capacitors.

heres some more UV goodness (http://forums.overclockers.com.au/showthread.php?s=&threadid=118809) if you like it :)(also ripped from OCAU)

i like, a lot
its appealing, a lot
its been done many times, a lot even...

but the light has to be enhanced...
uv is way too appealing for me.. u reckon a mini cold cathode wood luminate enuf if placed next to heatsink and 2 fans?

hmm, when i get wet i will have a hole where my fan used to be. I can't decide which fan to rid of though, the 120mm one in the front, or the 80mm clear one in the side. Now I am getting aplasma ball, whaddaya think that will ooklike in combo with UV dye etc. I was thiking of doing the invisible PC styles, just with the ball floating there, but that would't be original. Hmm, will go and draw upa nice design on my blank side panel that i have spare. The ONE good thing about those icute mod cases, you get a spare panel. Also trying to figure a colour scheme but wil get there.

But DAMN nice setup, altough I wonder what it would look like after an E or 12 beers. Cos man, hook it up to sound activation, chuck on some fat techno, and you got yourself a Phat reave in your own PC.

It's not a problem, plasma balls use glass....glass=uber insulator

Glass is a good insulator but wouldent the inverter make just as much static as the ball itself? Althow if it was completley enclosed in a metal box and just the front of the ball pokeing through the front it should act like a static shield

Is none of that made sense see the pic :p
