Hi
I have MSI 694D pro mobo [dual proc]
Supposedly this mobo is well overclockable.
I only have pIII 866 EB [1 cpu only]- 512MB pc133 CL2 ram
I tied to overclock by changing FSB frequency, but i didnt get much extra out of it.[890]
Apparently i should be able to get it just over 1 gig.
I think I should be adjusting the vcore voltage or something but are unsure of settings.
PLEASE help.

If there is FAQ some where that tells me all this please direct me there.

Well, do you have the users manual for the mobo - there should be some details about BIOS settings in it  including voltage adjustments.

If you don't have the manual the online version can be downloaded from here: http://www.msi.com.tw/php/upload/manual_files/6321-10.exe

I used commonsense and went to the MSI website. :p

Just set the Vcore to it's highest setting (1.85Volts?) This won't damage the CPU, and it will help you get the maximum overclock out of your CPU.

Then increase the FSB in increments of 5MHz until you reach your CPU's limit. By limit I mean that the computer won't boot or windows won't load. When you find the CPU limit scale back the FSB to the last FSB speed that the computer would boot at. Then of course you will have to make sure that it is stable in Windows. :D

If you still have problems OC'ing, try setting the RAM to CL2.5 in BIOS - this will help achieve a higher FSB, especially if the RAM is cheap generic stuff.

If you are running 1.85 volts, one would hope u have some damn good cooling on the chip.....

Nah, not really necessary with a P3 in my experience. I had teh P3 750 overclocked to 125 x 7.5 = 937MHz. That was using the stock intel HSF..... temps according to MBProbe were only 39 degrees C @ idle.
But then the olds were using that comp - so obviously no gamage, actually my dad likes solitaire....... :p
