As most of you know, you didn't quite see the tournament registration on the normal registration. That was because at that point we didn't know what this Easter Lan's tournaments were really going to be. But we've made a finalised decision now. Actually it was me that wanted to change one of them to something else, but when I played the something else I found it sucked so we went back to the original plan. None the less here is the basic run down of the tournaments. Times will be added when I figure them out.

* Unreal Tournament 2003: Invasion mode
* Worms: World Wide Party
* Command & Conquer: Generals

Fitting under the standards: First Person Shooter, Turn-based strategy & Real-time Strategy.

Basically I want people to post here not about how they will kick a$$ in the tournaments or arguing about the tournament selection but for people to post once on the selection of tournaments they want to enter. Something like "all three", "just FPS" or along those lines will make this a lot more easier and organised for everyone.

All of the tournament game patches/add-ons will be avaliable under the "Software" section on the Intranet and in the "Software" folder on the L3 DC Servers. There will be approximately TWO L3 DC Servers, each labelled Server1[L3] & Server2[L3] ... if there are more it will be easy to find them on DC Hub.

Try to be prepared for the tournaments before they actually happen. Last minute preparations never work and often the servers will be quite heavily chocked with network load and the download rate may not be as fast as you expected!

The tournament winners will each win one of the following: Free ticket to the next L3 event, $20 meal at MacDonalds, 2 free large pizzas with $4 tab on side orders or lastly $20 scribed trophy (Pick up at the next L3 event or by mail - free p&p).

Why there is not BF1942 tournament is because there was never a decent team to match OCNZ. Yes we could stick all the non-clanned people together but then it isn't really a team anymore. Besides I also cannot afford to give everyone in the team a prize each! Elle T pointed this out in one of his posts below. Thanks Elle T.

Please do not enter tournaments if you are unsure if you will be there. It's annoying for me.

Tournament Times
Friday 12:00 Midnight - Unreal Tournament 2003 : Invasion
Saturday 8:00 PM - Worms: World Wide Party
Saturday 12:00 Midnight - Command & Conquer: Generals

It will be on the dot this time, and people who are late by more than 10 minutes will be excluded from the match.

Worms & Ut2k3 Invasion

BF1942 was the old team Tourney game but never got a decent sized clan to rival/play against OCNZ - there for that Tourney was scrapped

:rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

Posting here will NOT, I repeat, will NOT sign you up for tournaments.

I did NOT, I repeat, did NOT remove tournament registrations from the webpage because I didn't know what they were. I removed them because it is a fundamentally BAD way of doing things.

*sigh*

:rolleyes: @ Solid Snake :p

OK, here's the thing:

ONLINE TOURNAMENT SIGNUPS FOR A LAN THAT DOESN'T INVOLVE PRE-PAYING SUCKS.

Basically, every LAN thus far the online tournament signup list has NOT been the same as the group of people actually PLAYING in the tournaments.

1 - people sign up online, but don't show
2 - people sign up and show, but CBF/don't want to play in the tournament at the time
3 - people turn up at the door and want to play in the tournament

....so basically any list of names sorted before the LAN is a load of bollocks and has to be re-done at the LAN. Which is what we do every LAN... :rolleyes:

SO, I'm canning online tournament signups. You sign up at the door. This eliminates completely the first and third problems with the online list. And the second problem is largely mitigated due to the fact that people are deciding about something that they're going to be ( potentially ) doing in a few hours time, rather than something that may be happening at an event some weeks down the track.

Sif I'd ever do something without some entirely logical, yet not immediately obvious reason :p ;).
