first off..i have two hard drives..ok, i had winxp on my boot drive(why not right) but then i decided that i wanted to try out win2kpro..so i partitioned my storage drive and put it on there, so now whenever it asks me which os i want to boot into at the bios and i choose winxp it tries to load win2k, so what i think it may be is that the mbr(master boot record) was changed on my booting hdd, maybe not ..but that's what i think, anyway; i cant find a mbr on any of my hdd's... if i could find it i guess i could use my hex editor ..but i cant ..so what should i do?..and if i reinstall winxp do you think that win2k will still work?

go into your boot disk, in the root directory (just on c:) there will be a file called boot.ini . you may have to go into folder options and set it so you can view hidden files and system files.

edit this with notepad and in there you will (should) see both your os, with their respective partitions etc.

this is also where you change how long it gives you to choose your os

play with this, but be careful, if you wreck both of them, you are buggered.

hope this helps
