View Full Version : Stupid IE Prob

Well I was browsing the forums and viewing another site at the same time just before and I noticed that IE keeps switching back to the forums window by itself while still loading the page. I click back to the other window and a few seconds later it switches back to the forums again. Tried many other sites and it does that on all sites when they are loading. A reset of my pc don't do jack either.

Anyone got/seen this prob as well?, it wasn't doing this last night that's for sure.

Hmm, my mate in canada confirms the same prob as well.
We are both running IE6 (yeah I know is crap) and XP Home/Pro

It's like the page loading in the IE window is taking priority over all other windows, oh boy this is annoying. I could throw my pc out the window at any minute......... The taskbar icon flashes as well, wasn't doing that before either.

*Update* - Window taskbar icon flashes before it switches*

I'm gonna do a total nuke/reinstall of IE and see what happens

try www.netcaptor.com their product is pretty sweet, not only do you get a tabbed interface but it also blocks pop-ups and advertising too :)

Its just an IE Shell so you don't loose any IE functionality.

For those of you who think web standards are important(that should be everyone who wants web page appearance to be independant of browser/os)

Mozilla 1.0 is the browser built by the people who build Gecko, the rendering core of modern Netscape browsers, the IBM Web Browser mentioned below, and several others. No browser does a better job of standards compliance, and Mozilla also includes all the usual add-ons like mail, news and chat.

from the web standards project (http://www.webstandards.org)

Or Crazy Browser (http://www.crazybrowser.com/) it's essentially just NetCaptor, but is actual freeware (as in legally free).

Surprisingly enough, IE is also quite tight when it comes to standards.

And how do I STILL not use a tabbed browser? Wanna know what res I run?
:p

I purchased netcaptor way back before many people knew about it, think I got it for about $10US, though personally I think its still pretty good value at $30US especially now that our currency exchange has picked up a little.

Grrr!!

It's one of those IE6 "FEATURES" ;)

Yep I'm usin Netcaptor now, quite good but they let us down with the favourites menu, doesn't scroll down the way IE did and I'll have to get a download manager cause if I close the main window NC will close the download(s) as well. :(

PS - Yeah I know Opera is good but I'm not going to use it :p BBWWAAAHAHAHAHA

Tabbed browsing is really good. No more having to go ALT+TAB when you can go F2 and F3. ;)
