i very rarely ever get less than 2.0K/sec off kazaalite, which is fine for me... mostly around 4.5K/sec - 5.0K/sec.
yeah dialup sucks, but a nice man from telstraclear came to see me this evening and i found out i can get 128K cable for only $10 more than what i'm paying now. swede.

I did get good speeds off of Kazaa and Kazaalite, then I got Jetstart and those speeds went to sh1t. Of course I never dled anything but movies off it, Ag sattelite owned for songs.

try gnutella (limewire.com) and change the port in the settings. It should bypass any throttling the ISP is doing by making it look like something other than a p2p program :)
make sure u run adaware after installing it though....

they're running some deals at the moment to attract new customers.
my current monthy telecom (line rental + services) and sky (digital basic + movies & movies max) currently sets me back $98 per month. i also pay $20 for flatrate internet thru snap. $118 total.
T/C offer almost the exact same services (including sky movies & movies max) for $78 per month. i can still pay $20/mo for internet thru snap or add T/C 128K cable internet for $51 per month including modem rental. $129 total.
nice. i might even just drop movies & movies max (coz they've been really crap recently) and it actually costs me almost $10 less than what i'm paying now! :D
cable install is $99 tho but since i don't have to buy a modem that's still a whole lot better than jetstart was gonna cost me.

real shame they can't offer cheap 128kb/s connections to rival telecom. say about $35-40 in total for like no cap. argh when is this country gonna get with the times and stop livin in the 56k past.

Reason it is so dear and we all have international caps is cuz most traffic u want is international, so it costs Telecom alot for the bandwidth. In say America most of the bandwidth is national and cuz national costs isp's less then they can get cheap dsl and never go over a say 2gb cap on int traffic. We could be getting more Int traffic than someone in America but the difference is that we are more likely to go over the cap than them

If Xtra pahsed out 56K in the next 2-3 years in favour of broadband access they better get thier act together and bring that unlimited J-Start back, hell i was about to get that setup, i had my Nokia PCI card DSL thinger, and two days before the guy came round to set it all up they announced the friggin cap, b4stards. :(

WinMX isnt no KaZaa for finding stuff, especially NZ music, but theres still one hell of alot of songs around .. even more so after V3 came out.

AG was much much much better than all other p2p app's when it came to finding rare songs. If you are looking for the average joe public top40 then others are great but go outside the norm and you'll have a hard time.....
Do you remember when AG was just starting... it was good even back then.. of course after napster went down it got soooo much better... and now we a similar thing thing happening....... AG got greedy > started advertising more > installing spyware and "gold account" bull****.. and now they pay..... hopefully everyone will move to kazaalite and the music range will grow and be nice again......+ i always hated that i could'nt listen to a track while downloading in AG.......
kazaa is faster... has the nice features of most p2p proggies and old napster... (even though it is ugly as sh+T) and hopefully soon it will have the broad selection of AG too! :p

Didn't you know you could open temp files in wmp, I just set file extension .temp to play in Media player and i was away.
This was especially handy when looking for a song and not knowing the exact name of it
