I have just installed a P3 800MHz processor to get it to work I had to but the FSB back from 133 to 100 as there was no option for this under the Bios with the minimum being the default at 133Mhz so I had to do this via the jumper settings on the Mobo. Anyway in doing this I think it has altered the Ram settings or something like that? As before the upgrade I had 512MB ram and now 448MB?
Here are my specs:
Epox VB6
P3 800MHz (was running a 533MHz before)
512MB 133 SD Ram
40 gig Samsung HD
GF 4 440 64DDR
Windows XP Pro SP1
I just want the correct Ram showing :) I understand that if I change the jumper settings to 133 on the mobo it will overclock the CPU to about 1200MHz which is something I don't wanna do, if anyone can help me or if you want more info please ask.
Cheers

how many sticks of ram are there in the machine?
it sounds like it could be a case of one stick being lose and not connected properly:
256 + 128 + 64 = 448mb
if there are 2 64mb sticks, then that's where i'd start looking

I checked the ram after I put the CPU in and it seems have been seated right, just checked it now by wiggling it and now it's all ok, gggggggggrrrrrrrrrrrr damn computers :) although the weird thing is that I had a 256 stick and 2x 128 sticks so just a little bit weird that 64mb was missing?
Anyway thanks for all your help.

You've got the wrong idea somewhere...
you must have a processor with an 8x multiplier (8*100MHz FSB which sounds most likely seeing as you knocked it back to 533 = 8*66MHz FSB). 8*133=1066MHz so you wouldnt likely make 133MHz FSB (its possible though).
So set the CPU to 100MHz FSB to run at deafult spec.
The RAM settings are set in BIOS. If you have PC100 or PC133 then you are OK leaving it on "by SPD" settings
Where does it display RAM wrongly? BIOS or Windows or both?

i doubt it but maybe ESD killed one side of the 128 ?..idk..just a guess...
sometimes, when running SD RAM at wrong speed, half the stick won't work, etc.. it's probably that
