hey, i was wondering what a resonable price for a 1ghz t-bird 266fsb would be? my mate said he will sell it for $120, and it has neva been OCed. It was made in 98 apparently. Is this a resonable price? IMHO i think its a bit to high? n e thoughts?

p.s. sorry not in buy & sell, but nuting for sale...

1998?? 1GHz, 266FSB TB?? Where did your friend got his? @ that time, there was only Athlon CPUs, with off die L2 cache.

However, a good 1GHz TB, namely AXIA, AXIAR, etc, will cost you around $150 mark.

One more thing, AMD only introduced 266FSB part 12~14 months ago.

Look on the die area of the CPU, 2nd line from the top, first 4~5 words.

Well even my Athlon XP says 1999 on the CPU die - this is to do with the copyright of the Athlon name, I think. Because even the first Slot A 100MHz FSB Athlons weren't released until June 2000.

I think your mate should put the Tbird in Trademe, set the reserve to say $110 and see what he gets.
