I assume you changed your mind from the 1.6a to the 2.2a? ;)

Must admit this is a nice board its got just about everything you'd ever want on board ... looking over I notice I don't have a single PCI card in the box now just my GF4 heh
Memory was holding me back a little but I've replaced that with some DDR333 Samsung (512Mb at www.vbs.co.nz for around $300 atm seems a fair price) and I've got my 1.8 sitting happily at 2520Mhz .. It will post a little higher but too unstable though I've only got stock HSF on it with just the paste changed over to Arctic Silver II.
Speaking of Thermal when I took off the old grease I noticed theres like a big silver pad sticker on the base of the stock intel fans, do you guys normally rip this off too or just grease over the top of it ? I assume its just a cheap replacement for lapping the back of the heatsink

That is a thermal pad.
And it is on the bottom of the HEATSINK
Heatink = metal thingy.
Fan = plastic spinny thingy ;)
Thermal pads are the tool of satan.
Take it off with like the plastic tip of a pen, and your finger with some spit/turps/holy water whatever.
Dont scratch the base unless you feel like lapping :D
The chuck some arctic silver on the cpu after cleaning that as well.
Thermal pads are usually only good for ONE USE.
As they are generally designed for oem use.
Wham bam thank you intel ;)
NEXT
Anyway.
Thermal conductivity of thermal pads is acceptable, and will do in a pinch, but it is no substitute for a flat heatsink and decent thermal compound.

Semantics fan/heatsink heh, you knew what the heck I was talking about and so did I :)
Thanks for the advice though I'll rip that sucker off later on.
