If I have 3 hard drives 2*40gb and a 10gb, I can have the 2*40gb drives in RAID and the 10gb separate aye ?
So like windows would see for instance c: as 80gb and d: as 10gb.
Am I right, and would this pose any problems ?

Yeah that should be fine. Though some drives are not very good in RAID (they slow down :( )
Also it pays to have identical* drives.
*by identical, I mean that they should be the same brand and purchased at the same time new

Schweet az.
What about the third drive...is that like "left out" of the RAID or is it still part of.
If ya get what I mean ???

Yeah the third drive would be just a third drive on its own.
Though I'm not a RAID god or anything, so take my word for it.

Depends.
:p
RAID can use 2,3,4,5,6,8,12,16..... drives, and can be set to literally dozens of combinations.
However, chances are you're talking about el-cheapo onboard RAID, so scratch all your options.
You can probably only do the following:
RAID 1+1
RAID 1+0
RAID 0+0
...no RAID 2, RAID 3, 4, 5, 6 etc. Yes, they all exist - and most ( or even more ) are available on Intel etc hardware RAID solutions.
Run a google search, and read up on RAID. Seriously - you obviously have done about 0 research. All your questions will be answered, AND you'll get a better understanding of what you're talking about.
Here are some links to start you off:

That deserves a big phat AMEN
So yeah what he said... go do some research of ya own.. there are tons of hardware sites with tons of guides/reviews etc
hint: goto the the overclockers.co.nz main page, on the right is a phat listing of hardware sites... pretty much all of them have had a RAID review or guide at some stage...
Don't expect to be spoon fed, aight..!
