Try here..

This is the base of what I use whenever I have to do this. These days I use kickstart (linux) and automated installs off a server, mostly using a ghost base.

a few years back i built a little boot disk with a very stripped down windows 3.11 networking client. it's consists of just the DOS components of the win3.11 networking package, so you can map network shares and stuff. i backed it up ages ago and still seem to have all the bits on my HDD, so i can send it to you if you like.

Hey mird-OC I'd be keen to have a look at your boot disk. Does it run on a win98 boot disk or only dos 6.2? Be handy to be able to boot into a network share on my home lan.

it'll run on any DOS formatted boot disk (DOS 5.0, DOS 6.2, Win95, Win98 etc etc), but i've dug it up out of the archive and here's the thing. it's currently only setup for NetBEUI (no native TCP/IP back in those days) and you also have to manually set up your NIC driver - which isn't too hard to do (just a few lines in protocol.ini to tinker with). it's currently setup for an NE2000 (or compatible) card, but i'll include a wee note on how to set it up for another card.
if you're still keen i'll chuck it up on a site somewhere for peoples to download.
