Hey people,

Im just wondering if any of you with broadband or those that already have linux iso's or cd's would consider burning a copy for me and posting it. I'll give you money of corse to cover cd's and whatever you have to pay for the bandwidth you'll use up and postage. T

he reason i ask is because my school won't let me download any more through their connection because i use up too much bandwidth and my dad don't like me using the phone for my cool-as dial up (and not just any dial up, i'm willing to bet that my lines at my house are the WORST of any city/town in nz) and i can't afford broadband as im too poor :( ,and it takes too long on dial up anyways.

Im looking for slackware or debian, but will also settle for red-hat if i have too, but would rather have slackware. The latest versions please.

Btw i live in feilding which is near palmerston north, so mayb i can pick up?!?

Any takers???

Thanks

it'd probably be cheaper for you to go to an icafe and grab it from ftp.debian.co.nz , but pm me if you want and we can sort something out for slack 8.1 (no way i'm supplying redhat ;) )

You can download a 30Mb boot cd for debian. This gets the base installed the just use apt-get to get anything else you need. It takes a while but I used to do this on dialup. You only end up getting what you need as well so it much less than a cd image. Start it off then go to bed disconect in the morning and nobody will miss the phone.

Hooney, thanks for that but i can't let it go when im in bed, cause my dad's father is old and had a heart attack a while ago and my dad wants the phone free in case someone rings, but im talking to fatsanchez and i'll get slack from him if i can't get it from the icafe in town.
