Does anyone know of any good tutorials etc, on how to embed a web cam into a web page? Also is it possible to embed an IM client (like Trillian for example) into the page, so the viewer could talk to the person without having to have the program installed. ie so everything is self contained.
Yes I'm trying to update my web design skills. When I learnt there were no web cams etc... lol
Grrr!!

I believe it is possible to build AIM (AOL Instant Messanger) into a webpage.
Of course, anything is possible given enough time.
There's a webpage somewhere that has the whole of the original Sim-City coded in it.

Yeah I thought about doing that. But I figured they probably use comercial software.
I've got rellies overseas. And they're lucky if they can send an email let alone install software and configure a webcam (not that they'd have any use for it anyway). So I had a thought of creating a site where they could go and watch 'my boys' and chat without the need for any additional software.
I'm mainly looking for a tutorial so I know how it works (which is as important to me as it actually working). Yes I've tryed to google but I'm not getting very good results.

Cheers for that whetu. I knew you had done a similar thing but I couldn't remember the url and was too lazy to hunt.
I'm sure it can't be too hard to do the chat side of things. I went to some of those seedy pr0n sites but they all seem to have a chat room type thing. I more looking for something that resembles IM. So even if your having a conversation with more than one person it's still just one on one with each of them. I'm sure somebody must have done something similar and there is probably some open source coding which I could just implant. My main trouble is finding it.
