Here's a post I got from some dude tryin to be smart with me:

amd-xp-cpu is working fine till 75... so what ?
keeping the cpu temp down is PURE CRAP (there is absolutely no need to do that)
mine is running at 60 (full load 65)"

No, no he doesn't.
If your cpu is @ 60c (according to probe or on die sensor) that is the temp of the probe.
Junctions in the cpu will be hotter than that, some to a considerable degree.
Ones CPU will die a lot faster @ higher temps......
And stable is a very variable term amongst people ;)
In short, that fellow does not know what he's talking about, or has a very skewed way of showing it ;)

Well, how about we let him keep his temps @ 75C, and I'll 24/7 Seti-off him. Heh, first to fry or die - and I know just who it'll be....
Yes, he's a moron.

haha This dude won't give up
"(this is almost too easy.. your playing right into my cards)
when my 2000xp+ @65° dies... george w. bush´s son will be president !
tell me: what exactly do you know about siliconbased nano-/micro-electronic circuits ? let me guess... actually... nothing !?
so what drives you to tell me that 65° is too high ?? i dont quite get the point.. please help me ..."
...........hahaha this is funny :D :D

Actually technically he is correct. I wrote one or two big spiels about hight temps and electro migration in the last forum, and his temps are fine. Acording to AMD max temps from memory is about 90 degrees centigrade.
This doesn't mean that I want my temps up there, or agree with those temps. If you really want me to get technical and write a spiel about it I will, this forum can probably do with one so I can refer people back to it cause the issue with temps always comes up.
I do believe though that his CPU will last until Bush's son is president at those temps, but our processors will probably last 20 times longer, but there's more to it than that. KJ you must remember one of those spiels of mine.
You do have to ask yourself though, if running your chip at 75 deg and it will only last 10 years so what? The chip will be outdated. Maybe I will look up Artheniouses Law (never can remember how to spell it) and explain this thing out properly.

10 years? I wouldn't give it that long 2-3 maybe..

isnt the rule of thumb a drop in 10c will double the lifespan of the chip? anyways, 90c is the maximum temperature amd states...
