View Full Version : Help!!!!
This happened to my video card last night, I left it downloading for about 20mins while i was away and came back to little dots all over the screen and no matter what i do i cant get rid of them. They are also viewable in dos. It's not overclocked and I have redone the bios as well and still it dose it :(
Dose anyone have any ideas on what this is ?

Looks like fux0red ram to me.
Check to see if there is anything on the ram, like a sliver of metal or whatever.
Also, the fan is running poperly, card doesnt get too hot?
If the RAM is the case, then i would contact whoever u got it from immediately....
Also, try changing your drivers, and triple check the cooling.
Are you 100% sure you havent overclocked it, or someone else has fiddled with it?
The cooling on it is fine and it's not getting to hot.
Yes it has been overclocked in the past but it wasnt when this happened.
As for the drivers i have tryed all different ones and still nothing changes.
There is nothing touching the card and the ramsinks and still in the right place :(

I agree with all the above. RAM gone and it's going to cost you.

this happen to my old TNT2 ULTRA, but the Dots were bigger, the problem was that the Card wasnt seated properly in the AGP SLOT.
Take your card out and re-seat it on the AGP slot and make sure its seated perfectly.

Oh bummer.... that was the one that if you just put a jumper on it (somewhere) it enabled all the Quadro features :(

You could do that with any Nvidia card, it just wasn't as easy as a jumper, but required soldering.
Nah I put the jumper on it but it didnt work with my model.
Looking at getting a Leadtek GeForce4 Ti4600, Aint looked for any reviews on them yet at all.

Yeah there would be if I hadnt tryed to get the Quadro features :(
Anyways something you guys might get a laugh out of, Just got a call from my brother telling me that its now working fine.
Turns out that the card had gotten so hot that the Arctic Silver had melted and run all up under the ramsinks and that is what was causing it to look like the ram was shot.
All he did was wash it under the tap and dry it with a blow dryer (not the first time he has done that to one of my cards)
Least I don't have to fork over $1000 plus for a new card :D
