CPUFX MAGNETIC DRIVE 12V pump -CMD12V

12 volt power for all ATX power supplies

1.2 amp draw

quiet running

inline design magnetic drive

3 Gallon per minute

2 pounds per square inch of pressure created at 4 ft of head

1/2 OD fittings included

Molex connector for ATX included

Not quite sure why this is "Better than Ehiem pumps!!!" 3 gallons works out to be 180 GPH; the Ehiem 1250 rated at 317GPH ...

Still, I'd like a play with one ...

Another pic (not much point in going to the site now, that's about all the info they have. Other than the price :) ) -

Interesting. The way they word it makes it seem like they thing it's better than an Eheim due to it's 12V input power. The Eheim's have to run a cable out to mains ( 240V AC ), so that's an extra cable from your PC unless you [H]a>< in a point for it in your case.

And as for that price - heh, wellll.....

....let's just say my more powerful Eheim was cheaper

Still the idea of just plugging into your power supply is quite cool :D

yeah but i wouldn't use a 12v pump, they tend to be not designed for 24/7 use

I agree with the last caller - 12V DC not generally designed to run 24/7

but hey its gettin there !

Whats irronic is the claim 'Better than Eheim'. I have used Eheim pumps for many years, not one of them has ever had a malfunction. (some running 24/7) Lets see how this 12v pump fares after a little time goes by and people report thier long term results. (12v Bilge pumps are a horrible solution since they are not designed for continual use, but this appears to be made for continual use)

Personally I dont mind running a power line out of my pc, but I use a PRS switch so the pump turns on when I power up the PC.(Rare to shut it off but once in a blue moon I will)

I'll tell you something else. I would prefer to power the pump externally so I don't tax the PSU.

Making a claim Better than Eheim is a strong claim, and if so its gotta be a heck of a pump, but like I said......Time will tell.

PS Nice site you have here, I'm a Mod from Overclockers.com and don't know how I got here, but since I'm here I'll put my feet up and keep my eye on all you New Zealanders ;)

PS I often help people from your area of the world out...Just yesterday I sent an overclocking brother a Video card that he couldnt find over there. (shipping was $23, but Fedex wanted $80  (Thank God for the US Post office)

Anyway Stay cool.
