Hey man - are you the organiser? Why a martial arts .org place? Do they have the venue that you're going to use? Have you guys run any LANs before? ( haven't heard of you ) How many people do you normally have/are expecting to have?
( don't mind me... just curious :) )
That looks pretty cool really, your coach sounds wicked. Good luck with your fundraiser.

it is only 1 night :P but personally ive been contacted by about 10 ppl that have said they are going. and then theres the other 25 ppl in the class, and the ppl they tell to come. i would safley say over 25. quite likely 35, probally 40, but hopefully more. they have planned for 60ppl, but if they dont turn up more food for us

Sounds good. More ppl the better.
Shame about the late notice, could have had a few more people if it was announced a bit earlier.

Went to this lan, it was pretty good.
Pretty much your standard LAN. had about 25 people there. Pretty good setup with a couple of 24port switches.
I experienced a bit of 2k3, then showed some people some Americas Army, but could only get 2 others keen to play, it was fun anyway.
Had a good 3 player game of VietCong, deathmatch VC mode. running around using your ears more than your eyes.
Heaps of people were playing Codename Eagle. Not sure why, probably didnt having a working copy of 1942 I would guess.
Later on another group of people arrive. I like to call these guys the "Trekkies". they played some Startrek game. And didn't really talk to anyone else.
Some pretty good leeching via the ever reliable Direct Connect.
Overall good lan.
I will be back for the next one. being that the lan is about 2mins drive from my house makes it easy.

We were going to play Battlefield, but for it to be pleasurable you really need to have about 24 people playing and not everyone had it. Vietcong and UT2K3 were fun and leeched quite a bit. I enjoyed it. Living in Avondale and having to drive to Devonport isn't good but I'll be back for the next.

Yeah the 1942 games do get better with more people.
The VC game was pretty cool, Cereal Killar your were kicking ass if I remember correcly. Needs more varity/more maps before its gonna become popular I think.
