Thanks to the folks at Overclockers.nz for letting me know that they have posted their review of the i845PE based Asus P4PE motherboard:

P4PE uses 1/6/0 (AGP/PCI/CNR) configuration and the last PCI slot is in blue instead of the usual white colour. Asus calls it "Blue Magic" PCI slot which supports future Asus PCI function card. The I845PE chipset isn't deviant much from the I845E chipset based on the features offered. It still uses ICH4 and offers AGP 4X, USB 2.0, and ATA100. The "improvement" over I845E chipset lies within the MCH. There is a new FSB to memory ratio that enables DDR333 memory frequency. The same memory limitation of I845E chipset also applies the I845PE chipset and only four banks of memory are supported. There are 3 dimm slots but only two double-sided RAMs can be installed due to the above memory limitation. Dimm 1 uses two banks and dimm 2 & 3 shares another two banks. Single-sided RAMs are needed if you intended to use all of the 3 dimm slots.
