Yesterday I had supercharged downloads .... exceeding 40Kilobytes per second on my Dial Up account ... I downloaded about a gig in one day.

Today ... it's happened again :eek: :) .

I have installed Dumeter.

sorry to say, but it is psyically ipossible to transfer more than 7k odd a sec on a 56k modem, I could go into a big spiel about why, bet I really cant be arsed so just take my word for it :P and sanchez is right, its just going to be corrupt

That kind of speed can appear to be happennig when windows/an application ****s out and then plays catch up on its totals... i had an ftp transfer supposedly gonig at 16000KB/s for about 10mins once.... obviously it wast actually going that fast but the program had packed a sad

and lol the yey for xtra with your elite 26,400bps connection speed :rolleyes:

Oh and you might want t pay more attention to the details like your DUN connection duration is 43mins where as your DU Meter time is 19mins... also your Bytes sent/recieved dont match.

As I said earliet this is NOT a chop. And I do know about the fact that those two times are different ... because I started Dumeter later than I started my connection.

Edit: Must be Kazaa ... the files are corrupt :(. But how come the windows thingy shows that much data though?

my guess is the files were originally just zerofilled. zero-filled files appear to transfer at lightening speed due to data compression by the modem.

you get this sometimes when downloading ISO files that are zero-filled at the end... the last few MB seemingly blaze through...
