hey yea, speaking of tbred 1800's
i just got my t-bred a 1800 in the post and its got a pretty big core, its AGOIA stepping, but this sounds real newbish- is there any markings to show its a t-bred?
the l1 bridges are cut, its a green package and the core is square- not rectangle.
uh yea it sounds noobish but at least im asking.
i have my major doubts but there is a B in the bottom corner of the package but yea- im seriously doubting that would make it a t-bred b :D
That doesn't sound like a Tbred to me.
Have a look at the pics in this thread.
http://forums.overclockers.co.nz/showthread.php?s=&threadid=4075
If the marking is on the core then it's a Palomino core. All Tbreds have the marking on a seperate piece of "sticker" on the bottom of the CPU.
Plus, the core WILL be rectangle instead of square for the Tbred core. AGOIA is a Palomino stepping.
/edit
Don't expect to see TbredB 1800+ anytime soon. They maybe here sometime in late Feb or early March, 2003.

damnit! stupid nfc..
well i got the mobo=cpu working fine, cant boot into windows now..
i will be sending nfc an e-mail about this, especially as on thier site it actually says "amd athlon xp 1800- (throughbred a core)"
and i payed $204 in total which is a very high price for an 1800.
you guys rekon i should keep the palo or send it back and demand a t-bred?
which will oc better, its an AGOIA which is a good stepping i believe? which will run cooler?

regarding the tbred Bs... there were some reports that there will be 1800+ Bs in circulation at some point, but AFAIK thats pretty much the extent of the situation. personally i won't expect to see any in NZ until around march.

poison i doubt they will refund you your money . since the goods arent faulty and instead will more than likely swap it for a tbred a for you.
when did you get ur cpu? :D
ino when i ordered mine bout a week ago i asked them if they had any and the guy told me that it was for a customers pc getting shipped out in a day but he said if i came and paid sameday i could have it....which i did lol.
maybe i got yor cpu :D ....dont worry man it did 2010mhz! lol

ring them up..he said it only takes them half a day to get one from the supplier.
Pie send it back coz it's not what you bought for and it's very unlikely a .18 micron (is that right??) chip is gonna OC better than a .13 chip
I'll say it again NFC can kiss my ass

They don't food the market with chips unless people will be buying, and Q1 is the worst for sales.
Intel are supposed to start a new price war scheduled for Q1, but that could be Jan, Feb or Mar.
