Ok I'm in the process of pricing up a new rig :D and I need some recommendations for a mobo.

I was looking at the IWILL XP 333 -RAID but a quick look in the IWILL section of our mobo forums kinda put me off.

At the moment I'm looking at an XP 1800+, 512mb DDR RAM, Leadtek GF4 Ti4200, and was looking at 2 40GB Hard drives in RAID :D....blah blah blah

I had been attracted to the IWILL firstly coz it's on special for $230 @ Styles, and becoz it's got onboard RAID, and I guess the onboard 5.1 sound was kinda cool since I didn't have to buy a new sound card.

So what does everyone think?

I really want a good stable DDR board preferably with ATA 133 and onboard RAID, but I really don't want to spend $400 or something like that.

What's your idea ?

how about the Epox 8k3a+. Its pretty fast, OCs well (apparently) and aint too expensive - $300 from styles.
It has ata133, RAID, 6 channel sound, and alotta other stuff that i cant be bothered typing. Ohh - and its KT333CE so u can run u fsb at 333mhz asynchronus.

Umm does it?
Shizer, TasTech has all the wrong info on his site...I went by that, thats why I didnt choose the Epox outright!

Damnit, and also, its only $269 @ StylesPC and $270 @ TasTech.

Definately consider this board! I am :)

Geez, that same MB used to be 400+ when first released. I wish GFX cards' price could drop like that.

The XP-333 is a good board, provided that you know your way around PC. The latest April BIOS also fixed up quite a bit of problem. I am using it in my primary rig and it's really stable. In fact better than the old Epox 8KHA+ I had.

Hans, what did you mean by "providing you know your way around a PC" ?

And what sorta things did the new BIOS fix ???

Thanks guys for your advice :D

Definately the Epox 8K3A+... great features, overclocker friendly, good quality, good reputation, low price...

I wouldn't get a soltek KT333 since you might end up with a KT333CD version rather then the newer CE. CE is faster and better for overclocking. Think of that like the difference btw getting a KT266 vs.. a KT266a.

For $270.. Go TEH Epox...

Else if you can afford to spend more.. the Abit KX7333 should be available by now...
